Oh man, as much as I expected the first part of this comic – the loaded with Esones part now still has me on the edge of my seat.

Glad to see the Dude’s remembered the whole thing about “Hands up” being important to appear neutral.

First and foremost, touching Danni is always a bad idea since she’s got issues with physical contact. Second, where did Kat get the esones from???

I think Snowman’s group said something about all these tunnels leading to caches of esones?

It’s presumably also how Jane got all those esones before.

Nah, it’s probably a Morto ability, remembering it being mentioned in one of the earlier chapters (around the time Kat lost her Esone). — Probably something like being able to take Esone from players they killed, instead of breaking them, or something.

that’s what I find hard to follow with this comic, the actual stuff (like finding esones) aren’t shown, just the after dialogue.

I think they were shown earlier to look like wreaths.

Even without playback I really hope we get a flash back to how she did it. Too bad they might have to gove them back to the server because it was not on camera and too important as watching drama.

And hey, the AI fetched Kat some Kesti Esones! Not Erbana, but still Heroic.

Oh No, does that mean that Kat’s 100% Erbana is compromised with hints of Kesti?

Kat wouldn’t like that……

Actually, now I’m wondering if Kat is loaded with her hands full, and is simply transporting the Kesti Esones to Dani to overload her, and have her be the one to take out the enemy on a quest accepting of “Defeat the enemies.”

Just adding a comment here regarding the delay – by all means, take your time; it’s amazing that you’ve been keeping such a steady schedule through the pandemic as is

LOL yeah I agree this is SO not Dude’s day. He an into a small Angry Cat that was fully loaded, and he’s had bad experiences with Kats before. xD

Wait, isn’t she going to register as an Erbana again? And they AI should follow based on that? (Or does it not care?) Or, this being the Kesti path, are those somehow Kesti-based Esones…?

I went and re-read the last 45 or so pages.

So we are on an island that should not exist. It contains “linking tunnels” for each of the main creator’s personal places. The official linking island was shut down/closed off by the people currently in charge of the game, because they did not want to risk waking the sleeping virus.

So it seems likely that the pink tunnel is Herbanna, and the one that they are most afraid of activating the virus to shut down the game and/or the entire computer system that they rely on.

At least one of the original creators is still around and not at Tenka, presumed leading the rebellion and responsible for this place, and probably backing Snowman’s group in this adventure.

Finally, the computer-controlled Kat tried to get Dani some essones, and told her to follow/keep up. When she did not, because she wanted to get the whole group together for this, she was left behind and the AI got them instead.

Is that an accurate summary of where we are now?

Herbanna tunnel should not activate the virus but they have no real reason to go to her island and Herbanna aligned Escone are useless to Bandit and Dude. plus who knows how it will affect keiko

I’m surprised nobody else has asked yet, but what makes the others so sure Kat is still being controlled by the AI? I know page 765 shows her in “reality” declaring it unsafe to login, but then she notices the channel is offline, so she could have decided to login sometime between then and now. If she didn’t announce herself doing so, the others might not have noticed.

Aneeka; I very much agree with you about the last panel being really good! Panel 2 makes a pretty good 2nd though. 🙂

It’s sad to hear that you have to deal with ongoing technical troubles. I know that you want to continue the comic more than anyone else. So, good luck!
