Hiatus – Nanea

I'm having computer problems and a part took so long to arrive that I ran out of buffer. So, here's a quick sketch of Nanea instead.

Everything should be back to normal by Friday, though. *crosses fingers*

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to scale it down. Sorry everyone! Should be fixed now.

EDIT#2: Forgot to mention that the paperback version of The Unified God is now out. And I should probably mention that the Kickstarter for Volume 5 will launch in 3-4 weeks.

Danni never went back to that game practice shop. She changed to a different one and ran into Kleya.

Thanks to all for your suggestions on my dilemma for the upcoming Kickstarter for NAV 5. I was leaning toward option B and it looks like most of you agree with that:

So, option B it is!

I'm currently going through all the suggestions and deciding on which ones I could or could not do, but these are the new ones that will most likely make the cut (listed in order of ascending price range):

Custom button from any existing artwork; Digital Doodle; Email exchange with one of the characters, ask them anything (that is safe for work) and they'll respond in character (if you choose Kleya, Mina will respond since Kleya doesn't respond to messages); Fantasy Novels, all 3, signed; Custom avatar you can use for social media or forums or turn into a custom button; Custom Chibi art; Custom LiFe art; Custom Game art; Custom Hacker art; Q&A one-page comic where you can ask a question (that is safe for work) to any character, including Kleya, but no guarantee you'll get the response you want or if you'll even survive if you ask wrong questions to certain characters; Custom Reality Art; Custom short story in prose, max 3K words; Mini-comic of you interacting with characters in LiFe, max 4 pages, with a guaranted cameo in a future LiFe page.

Most of the above will also be super limited. I have time constraints and don't want to overwhelm myself. Tshirts, bags, and mugs will also be limited since I have a finite amount of them and can't easily order more.

There was a suggestion given that I really like but am not sure if you all will like it. It's to offer a variant cover for NAV 1 (assuming we make it to 20K, of course). So, instead of redoing the art, I would make a new cover that will only be available to those participating in the Kickstarter. This is something I can do and with little added cost. If you'll take this quick survey and help me decide if it's something I should offer, that would be great. Thanks!

EDIT: To clarify, I would still be doing a print run of Book 1 with the normal cover--these I'll sell at conventions and such. The variant cover would be an additional, limited run, with the different cover and only offered to those participating in the Kickstarter. Because the inside is the exact same, changing the cover doesn't had much to the cost of the overall print run and is something I could pull off, assuming we reach $20K. I will also fix up certain panels within Book 1 so it will have updated art, but I probably won't re-do all the art.

Danni is so not impressed.

Repeated news: I'm gearing up for the Kickstarter for NAV's Book 5 and hope to launch it in May. The main problem is that I'm out of NAV 1 (I have just enough for Phoenix Comic Con in May, but that's it). It's awkward to run a Kickstarter and not be able to offer the first book of the series so I would like to raise the funds to reprint them during the Kickstarter. Alas, that's going to require a minimum of $20K, an amount none of my Kickstarters have reached before, so I'm a tad terrified of attempting it.

There are three ways to go about this:

Option A: Set the minimum for printing both books ($20K) and hope we make it. If we don't make it, then I'll get no money and neither book will be printed.

Option B: Set the minimum for printing only Book 5 ($10K) and put Book 1's reprint as a stretch goal at $20K. Come up with stretch goals in between that don't cost any money (since all the money will be consumed to print the books). If we fail to make $20K, but at least reach $10K, then Book 5 can be printed and Book 1 will have to wait for another time. But this makes it difficult for me to attend cons since I won't have Book 1 to sell. Also, I won't be able to offer a full set during the Kickstarter since there will be no Book 1 to give.

Option C: Set the minimum for reprinting Book 1 ($10K) and put Book 5 as a stretch goal at $20K. This is awkward since not everyone might want another Book 1 if they already have it and there's nothing really new to sell which could make it hard to raise the initial $10K.

I would love your input. If you could fill out this survey, it would help me immensely in making this decision!

Thanks so much!!

Outsiders' dilemma of getting into the Game wasn't high on Jake's priority list.

Unified God Release Day!

The third ebook in my Chaos Gods series has been released today!! The paperback version will be available on April 17th.

If you like the book, please please consider leaving a review. You have no idea how helpful it is to have lots of reviews on a book. And if you've read the earlier books, please consider leaving a review on them as well. If I could get first book, The Wanted Child, to have 50 reviews on Amazon, then I can submit it to larger sites who would help me advertise it.

Also, the first book in the series, The Wanted Child, is still on sale for $0.99 until tomorrow.

Yep, new cover

Fifteen-year-old Ki doesn't care what half of the nine gods say. She will not let her parents die to save the Four Lands. Tavk, the trickster god, agrees to protect her parents as long as she completes his missions. For the promise of a happy ever after, Ki evolves into an infamous demonic fighter and tries to ignore her fading humanity and growing loneliness.

Then she meets De: the gods' new Hero. The gods need him trained fast and Tavk is only too happy to sign her up for the job. Two years older -- and distractingly handsome -- De practically worships Ki and wants to be both her best trainee and her best friend. But he doesn't know who she really is: The Wanted Child. The one the new Hero, De, is destined to kill so the gods can finally destroy her parents.

Great time to try the series if you haven't yet!
