Kleya has disappeared several times for Jake. It's never a fun time for him.

Please be aware, the site is still broken and is being held by duct tape. I'm aware of many of the problems but the only ones I'm concerned about for now is if a) you can't see the comic b) you can't read the archive c) you can't comment. Thank you.

This can go so many ways.

Is this the first “confirmation” that the dragon and the virus are one and the same?

Well, we’re getting the first confirmation that Jake *thinks* D and the Virus are the same, but his visuals came up with the “Backdoor reset” during the Reality arc where Kleya turned everything off, and others have associated D’s activitkes with the Virus.

But also, this is the first we’re seeing of confirmation that what Dr. Grace was trying to do and get Jake to *request* something of the Virus might be true…for Danni, and Danni only.

So we’re at least getting confirmation one way or another if that even could work…next page, hopefully.

The site seems to be working mostly fine for me (from JP if it helps). Archive loads quite slowly but still works and individual pages chosen at random from it don’t seem to have that issue either.

I just love how Jake is like “Man this is super duper risky. Anyway, my plan will not beat around the bush at all, I’ll just have Danni make a request which anyone will immediately know is definitely not from her.”

I wonder if he isn’t trying to hide his tactics because he knows that Kleya is smarter than him anyway or because they’re pressed for time because of Snowman.

I hope on the next page Kai A.I. will start grinning in a menacing/horrifying way with jagged teeth and burning eyes and say something like “So… Bandit is trying to control me through you? Tough luck, this doesn’t work anymore. He should start running now. After logging out, that is.”
But I guess D is concerned with staying undercover, so that probably won’t happen.

Also: “the all the Esones” has a “the” too much.

I figured “the all the Esones” was intentional. Makes Jake seem a little more alive.

Snowman’s group is crippled* since the requirement to enter the portal (way back at the color-coded tunnels) is no more than one esone (https://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-752/). And Jake knows at least two of them have no esones, since The Dude killed them (https://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-794/). And an esone-filled Danni should easily be able to hold them off.

But, of course, Jake has no way of knowing about this part yet.

I didn’t think that having Danni take all the Esones was the risky part. That felt more like a safety precaution once he realized that Danni has an ally of unimaginable power he might not want to tick that ally off.

But on the same note I didn’t think it’d be ok to risk ticking the A.I. off by relaying a command through Danni it obviously isn’t hers.

But you’re right about Jane. I forgot about those pages and only remembered the ones where she said “goodbye Tenka pet” or something, so I assumed she was on Snowman’s side. So since Bandit still wanted to figure out what she was up to, this means he isn’t sure on which side she stands, so he might still feel pressed for time.

In wording this right, this could go very, very wrong.

Kat might not worry about Danni asking if an AI knows where she is and if she’s ok since she knows what Danni is like. Phrasing it so precisely tells her that this is not coming from Danni, and since she’s already worried about Bandit it might make her panic even more.

It’s not great when people just disappear without saying anything. It’s, uh, something I hope Kleya eventually grows out of.

Bandit trying to turn the Kat A.I. into a Kesti Hero in order to deliver a message isn’t quite what I expected, but I’m here for it.

Anyway what would be the most dangerous and the most safe request to ask, here?
My guess for ‘safe-ish’ would be.. “Are you really that mad about the fireball? Sorry. Uhm. Can you come back to play?”
And for dangerous: “If you don’t come back this instant where I can keep an eye on you I’ll tell Tenka about you; they have a new way of containing D now, just you wait!”
