Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally it’s going to happen and the Dude will fight!
I like how the Dude is not concerned by the other party’s fighting capabilities at all. 😀

Well, you have to figure as a friend of Jake/Bandit’s, he’d be far less of a pushover than he acts, especially given how much of it we know is an act.

Even still, the notion that he can take down a presumably well-equipped, veteran group by himself…that really puts his power into context.

Alex on 08/18/2020 @ 12:27 pm

Yes, I figured that ever since he made it through the Game trials. 😉
And my assumption was cemented when he tried to hug Danni to get her to push him away from the deadly fireball. That takes some serious guts and quick thinking.

But judging from what Snowman’s group talked about earlier they’re well aware of this, so I’m curious if they have a plan B now that Snowman can’t absorb any blows.

It’s not even about it being an act, it’s the fact that he does it to take advantage of how the game works that makes me want to see him fight for real. For real, but not seriously, I don’t think; he’s gonna be doing all sorts of wacky things that end up leverage game mechanics to rip them to pieces. He strikes me as the sort of player that would think nothing of exploiting glitches or obscure stuff to give him an edge, no matter how silly they make him look.

Not so unlike Kat’s fighting style, what with the demands to be happy and be nice, eh?

Dormagio on 08/18/2020 @ 4:18 am

I love Danni’s utter refusal to play the game the way they want her to.

So, will he run around and around them like the flash and suck them into a vortex?

Darkening on 08/18/2020 @ 2:08 pm

Clearly all of his screaming up until now has been part of an ongoing sonic attack. It takes a while to kick in, but after five minutes or so of running and screaming, watch out!

Keybounce on 08/18/2020 @ 1:37 pm

Knowing his specials, he probably won by running around that one time :-).

Chronos on 08/19/2020 @ 1:06 am

Oooh! We finally get to see the Dude fight! I can’t wait!!!

RowenMorland on 08/19/2020 @ 9:40 am

I wonder if the game tracks all of his cowardly actions and keeps score. Then when he turns his special on and stands his ground he gets all those points as a discharge on whoever he is fighting (or added onto his stats), setting it back to zero.

Dark Phoenix on 08/19/2020 @ 11:21 am

Hey, did everyone forget that the Dude’s mentioned his special before? He said it required “extreme violence”.

Alex on 08/22/2020 @ 7:01 pm

No, I never forgot about that. 🙂 Also it says “excessive violence”. The difference being:
The Special might already be able to do something if you deal 10 damage to someone who has 9 HP or it could activate if a certain Demoli unnecessarily breaks a lot of stuff during his fights with AOE spells.

Iron Ed on 08/19/2020 @ 7:18 pm

Dude’s expression in this scene… 🙂 My favorite in this strip!

Hmm.. Wonder what Jane’s up to…

SiliconWolf on 08/20/2020 @ 10:56 am

…Is it sad that I figured the same thing as Danni?

Iron Ed on 08/20/2020 @ 7:28 pm

Nah; just means you’d be great at ballet! 🙂
