So, uh… those glowing things on her body are esones right? D***, she did not lose any time…

Gilly on 03/03/2020 @ 10:21 am

Why do we watch nearly every channel but hers? Super curious as to what she does alone.

Yes those look like escones and she seems okay with them taking out Bandit.

I wonder if she will share with Kat and Danni.

Alexander The 1st on 03/03/2020 @ 12:39 pm

I’m guessing it’s because her reputation precedes her, so her popularity isn’t the one Sandra and co. aren’t worried about.

So yeah – this falls apart as a theory now, since apparently the cameras are supposed to be down for the others. This might be just outside the channel stream itself.

Well, if Kat had agreed to help Jane break the Game after hearing Jane’s very sad backstory, then I would’ve seriously considered that Jane absolutely might share one esone with each of them, even if she’d expect to get them back later, but a player who doesn’t want to help you even after hearing about the peril you’re in can’t hope for that.

Kat even could’ve just said something like “Look, I don’t want in on politics, and my reasons are my own, but I’ll fix your dolls if you promise to stop trying to kill Danni or me. Deal?” I mean, it’s real nice of Kat that she probably hacked into some machines to send some help over, so it’s not like she doesn’t actually care, but Jane doesn’t know that.

Kat Really doesn’t want to be in politics, or in some kind of Hack to take down the game, even if it is for a good reason. with what I know of her backstory, it’s not actually that far fetched that a similar event is what may of been the start of all her problems.
Lets look at least one possible backstory:
So before the whole calamity happened We know she was a high level hacker who couldn’t stand to lose, and had no qualms messing with computes as she saw fit. We also know that her and her parents where really big on this game for quite some time.

Now what if she was approached by a group that wanted to shut down this vr game because even then they thought people where begging to spend to much time plugged in and not getting enough real work done.
About this time, Kat was getting rather upset that she had not been having everything go her way. And so does want to break into the system and redo it so she can still win. They team up as they both think it needs to go. They do get in and manage to do a lot of damage and infect a ton of computers with a new virus. but there was unforeseen consequences and it wasn’t the game that was shut down but rather a lot of other critical infrastructure. and exploits and hacks once found tend to spread leading lots of people to use their new found access to do evil deeds well beyond the original scope. But the credit (or rather infamy) for this still needs to be put somewhere as people can’t handle the fact that this was a massive distributed attack that isn’t being lead by anyone and the systems all failed due to a whole host of reasons with out any real direction from anyone. it’s just to much to handle, so instead it all got blamed on the person who started it, doesn’t matter that they never planned or wanted it to get to this scale. It has and it’s much easier to place blame on something concrete to make someone pay for all the misery, as there’s no way to even begin to round out all the people who actually where involved, and least people could get some closure with there being a ring leader who gets the book thrown at them. And Kat just so happened to be the one who was left with the broken linch pin.

Tenka turned her party against her, citizens against the outsider, who needed this game to survive.

Makes you wonder what else Tenka has done?

DragonMaster on 03/03/2020 @ 8:56 am

This doesn’t bode well for anyone. I wonder what those green shapes on Jane are. They look like diamonds, maybe they’re the esones from the team Jane slaughtered previously?

Alexander The 1st on 03/03/2020 @ 12:43 pm

More likely, she farmed Morto Esones I’m the Morto realm while respawning.

Patryn on 03/04/2020 @ 2:26 pm

I don’t think that Esones are aligned, unless that is explained somewhere that I missed. In other words, Esones farmed in Morto attached to an Erbana character work the same as Esones farmed in an Erbana island. It just may be more difficult to farm if you aren’t aligned the same as the island?

Alexander The 1st on 03/05/2020 @ 12:35 am

The island they landed in via the portal apparently only has Morto aligned Esones, based on the statement here ( http://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-726/ ), and last panels from the previous ones.

Their initial problem is the new island would only let them farm Morto Esones, and Kat’s AI would have resolved the Esones issue of her not having any as allowing her to alignment shift.

Bob on 03/04/2020 @ 2:31 pm

She probably got them from the players that where turned into trees.

Drgnhawk on 03/03/2020 @ 12:12 pm

They do look like esones, but we’ve seen Jane from the back since she took out that team. Why would she un-hide her esones? I suppose it could be a result of game-death that you have to rehide your remaining esones…

Whatever the case, I think the biggest thing this tells us is that Jane is the only one in this game group who actually has enough 1-UPs to be doing anything really dangerous, which is a problem no matter how you look at it.

Rex Vivat on 03/03/2020 @ 1:29 pm

It’s been a while, but they made a big deal about how Esones have to be “set” to count. She probably avoided setting them before now to fool the others into thinking she only had one, like them. Apparently, that deception is no longer needed, or at the very least having more Esones set is more important right now.

Alex on 03/03/2020 @ 12:48 pm

Nice ending! 🙂

So, Snowman is against killing too many people. And it is heavily implied that he’s in league with Jane. That must mean that Jane didn’t kill off Aza’s group completely, maybe just took their Esones and left them to rot.

Man, if those green things really are Esones, then she now has at least 7 of them. I wonder if she got them all from Aza’s group or if she knows some secret Esone stashes in this hacky place. Are Esones always visible to everyone?

And Dude led the party there in the first place. But he killed Jane. Gosh, there are so many people stabbing each other in the back, I don’t even know why who does what anymore. Splendid writing! 😀

Ophidiophile on 03/03/2020 @ 4:05 pm

OK, so the Dude and Bandit went down the orange tunnel before Snowman popped out of the portal. Jane was in the red tunnel watching, apparently far enough into the tunnel so that she could see into the portal room but not be seen. Snowman’s group entered the orange tunnel, but the Dude and Bandit are hurrying to catch up with Kat and Danni, with Danni trying to slow Kat down till they do catch up. Cameras go down in five minutes, and Snowman et. al. have to wait that long before catching up with the Dude and Bandit, giving those two a chance to catch up with the girls. So either Snowman’s group is going to run into the Dude and Bandit after they catch up with Kat and Danni, or everyone meets on the island that is supposed to be off limits.
What is on that island? One of the Dead Ones? Of one of the game designers?

Alena on 03/03/2020 @ 7:38 pm

The orange tunnel goes to the quest taking aligningment. It’s the pink one which is the closed island so bandit didn’t want to go there

Meerling on 03/03/2020 @ 4:09 pm

Where the heck did Jane get all those esones!?!
For that matter, when?

(Aneeka has shown us the esones in other peoples bodies before, so that’s not surprising.)

Also it does limit her, since they said earlier that some of that area won’t let you in with more than one esone.
(I’m just not sure if it was the portal, the platform, or the entry of other tunnels.)

Keybounce on 03/04/2020 @ 1:37 pm

I thought it was just the island itself that you could not enter with more than one.

Once in the island you can get all you want.

That’s my understanding. I’ll let someone else say if I got it wrong.

Patryn on 03/04/2020 @ 2:33 pm

As I recall, it was the hidden Portal that the group used to get them onto the island (and this portal?) that are limited so that only people with 1 Esone can use. There may be other Portals that can be used with more than 1 Esone?

i n t e r e s t i n g

is Snowman the TENka pet here?

lil on 03/07/2020 @ 5:33 am

think that’s Jake

“And so ends volume 6”

Does this mean it’s nearly time for NAV 6 Kickstarter? 😀

Sandman366 on 03/07/2020 @ 10:07 pm

Was a bit lost so I did some re-reading to try to figure this out. And what I can figure out is also a little bit confusing me.

To make sense of it…I assume Jane must not’ve wanted this island because she figured the portal room here would be found out. TENka wanted them there to figure out what it was, and the resistance group here (I assume) wants to kill off Bandit and Dude, to “open more spots”…and I guess they just hope that it’s not more TENka people who take their places? (Actually, why do TENka people even need to bother with being in there? If they’re there for fun, why stress about the “player count” so much? If it’s viewers, if people really don’t like watching TENka people, they can just play while others are on, and if they’re there for work…..what, is your QA department that bad?)

Wonder if Bandit will notice the “cameras are down” because of his code feed and know something’s up at that point. (And how he’ll react….)

Keybounce on 03/24/2020 @ 3:34 pm

So, re-reading the older comics from when Kat and Jane were talking. Jane’s complaint was that her old group, due to low popularity, was going to kick her out and replace her with a Tenka pet.

Now, Jane is going to “kill” a Tenka pet for revenge. And as she said, “They live. They breath”. Not really killing.
