Huh. Yeah, Jake is right, she involuntarily became cool and mysterious.

So sad that citizens aren’t allowed to make money in LiFe, because Danni totally could’ve done something ballet-related then.

She needs to figure out how to treat the Game like dancing. Admittedly ad lib isn’t her forté, but if she can treat it like dancing, she’ll probably do a lot better…and maybe she’ll fascinate her viewers…? One can only hope. As standoffish as Danni is, she’s one of my favorite characters because I’m rooting for her to survive & thrive in the Game, so that she can have a life that supports her, rather than have her life support (literally) cut off…

Huh. So his pointers won’t be to improve combat effectiveness. But boost her ratings. . . Clever.

She doesn’t need to be combat effective. She just needs to dance long enough to totally befuddle the other team, while her team mates quickly pick ’em off!

Honestly she’s already a better fighter than The Dude.

But The Dude has cards. It is probably some sort of magic class that is more about choosing the right card than having any physical ability…

The Dude seems like an excellent actor who has picked out a character role for his place in their group.

The Dude ranked higher than Danni in the qualifying tournament.
He must be able to do something and probably everyone except for Kat, Danni and the comic’s readers know about it, so I am still jealous of them. 🙂 But the current reveals are very interesting, too.

There was a hint at what The Dude’s Special can do in the last Game section. He mentioned to Kat that it involves excessive violence, so he couldn’t use it around her, and not mess with her percentage in Erbana. That said, he’s playing a role well, no doubt aided by his actual fear of Kat and to a lesser extent, Jane.

Alex on 03/05/2018 @ 10:07 am

Yeah, I know about excessive violence, so during their fight I kept speculating, e.g.:
– Is an AOE attack excessive, because burning grass and tress is not required to damage your opponent?
– Is it excessive to deal enough damage to drop your opponent to -1 HP?
– Does he work so well with Bandit because that flashy show-off loves blowing stuff up?

IIRC at some point I speculated that Dude can summon monsters depending on how much excessive violence happened, i.e. he has a meter that fills up and can be used up at will. And when Bandit thought about the Deselione not living on that island I assumed that the Dude wasted some of his powers to do that for comedic effect.

But that was all speculation. Heck, I even had an actual dream once that he summoned an alternate version of Kat (the version Paddy originally intended for her). But I guess the portal all but disproved my theory. He might still be able to use his powers for summons after all, but obviously he didn’t summon the Deselione.

If she wore a leather jacket and sunglasses, she’d be super-cool.

Ok – I looked at the promotion and picked out a few books even. (Already have yours) But why does no one ever SMILE on modern book covers? Even the romance category looked pained! Never really thought about the dark, moody covers before – but seeing them all lined up like that really made it obvious.

One book I decided to try simply because there was a tiny hint of “Mona Lisa smile” going on.

Stacts on 03/05/2018 @ 5:29 am

I completely agree with you!!! I was actually looking for a cover with someone that looked sad or remorseful, and couldn’t find one. I am rather sick of the angst that is so prevalent on covers! It’s annoying!

Dragon Master on 03/06/2018 @ 8:08 am

Well the Mortal Instrument, and Magnus Bane books by Cassandra Clare don’t feature anger on their covers.
