‘Not A Villain’ Webcomic – Page 323

Yay, Kleya still exists!

Last time Jake saw Kleya Kat.

Random: I miss the Game art style. It was bright and cheery and sooooooooo much easier than the Reality style.

Depending on how D has been programmed, it may be building safeguards into the systems to prevent Kleya overloading them again (given her commaned was “Stop me! Stop what I did!”) – in which case, the systems need to be up and running, but their UI unavailable during the process. However, it could have chosen a better image to display…

Ah, Jake does notice that Kleya is trying to change. 🙂

He seems like a reasonably clever fellow. Let’s see if he can figure out that D isn’t necessarily hostile…

Is it weird that Kleya still puts the DM logo on all of her work?

Hanna on 08/29/2014 @ 3:15 pm

I don’t think she was asked about it this time.

I actually like the style in the art here much better than in the original Jake/Walter scene, if only because the emotions look more genuine. I think it’s the eyes. They seem much more focused here.

BTW, Jake really is clueless, isn’t he?

I miss the game art style for the very same reasons you miss them, too, Aneeka. :-).

Wait, the guy in the blue shirt knows to reboot a computer without having being told to?!

HE’S A HACKER!!!!

Hanna on 08/29/2014 @ 3:17 pm

LOL. My friend works at a national ISP’s customer service – she’s got the basic checklist “have you turned power off and on again/have you checked it’s plugged in/etc.” to go through before, if that doesn’t help, directing the call to the specialists. Someone with her knowledge would be lynched. XD

Aslandus on 09/01/2014 @ 3:35 pm

OH NO A HACKER!!! GET THE PITCHFORKS AND TORCHES! WE NEED TO BURN HIM!

Heaven on 08/31/2014 @ 9:03 pm

Technically, the entire group are Hackers, if you refer (can remember when) back earlier, Jake is working with a Hacker group that is trying to find the DM leader, which Is Kleya/Kat/Aneeka

Nonsense, that last panel looks awesome; I love the overhead perspective.

Yep, *definitely* would be more convenient to make the attack quietly never happen. Given that’s impossible, then having TenKa too busy with their own problems to bother with the suspicious timing or any other localized blackouts is probably second best.

Still, the infamous “Virus?!” D needs a lesson in subtlety, preferably in the form of a hierarchical list of preferred actions, with the overkill ones he is using currently held back as a last resort.

I feel compelled to point out how adorable Kleya looks in Jake’s flashback. With her cat ears drooping and her hands curled in front of her face, she makes me think of a little kitten add on top of all that the fact that she appears to be about to cry and it just adds to the cuteness factor.

Am I the only one who thinks this?
