If it matters for the plot that some time has passed, then yes, add a ‘soon’. I assumed was a few seconds later, which I guess is technically ‘soon’.

So she hasn’t been watching what’s been going on. Interesting…

But interestingly, D *has* been watching the whole time.

The Bandit is going to be about as afraid as The Dude when he finds out how much The Kat does not need a summary of the events that happened because D has been watching.

Well, presumably he’d just assume that she’d been watching and just didn’t answer.

Nope, you don’t have to add a “Soon” to that first box. We know it’s “soon!” It’s perfect as-is, because we all know D will go running straight to Kat, either way!

D’s grin in the latter panel tells me he was absolutely looking so forward to telling Kleya this that he didn’t waste a second. D ships Kleya and Jake so hard, it overrides his desire to hijack the Kat AI and overload the system.

That’s quite a bit of reasoning ability from D, to discern friend from foe

Uhg, drain bamage… cannot for the life of me remember if we know who really spotted them all those Esones.

I don’t think we have a direct confirmation. But Jane seemed to know about stashes, since she got a lot of esones, and I believe the Snowman mentioned “the stashes” at some point, too. So… maybe Sandra has connections and set them up? Not sure.

Wasn’t it the snowman team / group? That’s somehow allied with Sandra and manipulating Jane? My memory is foggy too.

it pretty clear the entire area is a stockpile zone for the resistance. For their eventual plan to end the Game by defeating the Characters of the Original Programmers for the game.

kat ai lead them there but who put them there is currently unknown. Jane however did seem aware of them or another supply

The Kat A.I. did, on their own accord. At least, I’m pretty sure it’s that.

They were observed by D, but I think they are a different entity than D, given that they called out that “The Daemon commanded”, not “Mastermind commanded”.

So.. D knew they were there.
As far as I know, we do not really know who put them there in the first place, but yes it’s totally a valid guess that some oppositional group did.
Also Bandit had a groan-moment when he heard about this stash aka he also has a strong guess of some sort.

And yes I could not restrain myself from quoting Kat-AI. She’s epic 🙂

Been a long time reader (since pre-hiatus), I think my first time commenting? Just wanted to say how much I enjoy NAV and am glad it’s still going!!

I am a little confused that Jake is cool with logging off, even with Jane telling them to. We as the readers know that Jane (most likely?) took care of that Snowman group, but THEY shouldn’t know that. And the two that were pursuing him were only going to be held up by Kat’s special for two minutes. So… should they not still be worried about their attackers, from their POV?

Technically, they moved since the last part, and Jane is likely following up with an attack on the two that will de-freeze, but even if not, Danni just got a boatload of Esones, and they know A.I. Kat is loaded up on Esones.

So with Danni as Guard, they should be more than safe. Especially now that they know that the Kat A.I. is actually essentially ordered to protect Danni, which means the Kat A.I. probably isn’t logging out as normal when they do.

Jake is at the end of what he can actually do so he needs to log off and deal with things offline and figure out what to do online

Not if Danni’s sporting 100+ Esones.

I love this conversation. Excellent writing. Cute doggy / dragon / daemon.

I don’t comment on stories often, but I just wanted to say that I’m very glad you’re back. This is one of those stories that I’ve been checking every week for the last several years and happy to see every update, both for you and for the story itself. Just reread the story from the beginning again and I’m looking forward to where the story goes moving forward

Just a quick thanks for resuming the story. I just went back and reread a bunch to get all the context in my head again and refresh myself with how fascinating it is.
Thanks again for all your work with it and getting it out there though so many tough times.

Since everyone is debating how Jane and the Snowman group managed to secure those stashes, and whether the Kat A.I. can actually be trusted to keep Danni safe offline, it got me thinking about the broader lore. Has anyone looked into whether the underground networks in this zone utilize a verification protocol similar to what they run over at https://guiadebet7kbrasil.com for platform safety and licensing, or is the Daemon’s infrastructure completely isolated from external tech audits?
