In so much media, things would have worked out so much better is someone just told the person the thing. Danni, good job telling the person the thing.

Also, Aneeka, thanks for taking the time to do things with quality while taking care of yourself.

Danni is my favorite. The competition is fierce, but she keeps pulling ahead :3

Should the first move have E4 instead of E5?
(I suppose E5 could be due to Dude struggling.)

He may not be starting a new game. He may be picking up where a previous mental game left off. It works if there was a rook or queen at E2 when he had his last panic attack.

The chess moves seem like opening plays, either for one player or for two players interchanging moves..
..but no peasant can move 3 steps in one go, hmm.

I believe it is called the Italian opening. White opens with E2 to E4, black responds with E7 to E5, followed by white G1 to F3, black responds B8 to C6, white moves F1 to C4. My guess would be the error came from grabbing black’s response endpoint instead of White’s opening endpoint, since they are only 1 square apart.

Ahh that makes total sense, yes, when trying to get only white’s sequence from a black/white sequence description that mistake could easily happen in that way. Explanation achieved, thanks ^.^

I never studied chess, just played it a fair bit in school. Opening for the bishops and queens and getting the knights out also makes a fair bit of sense so I could recognize it as far as being a valid sequence 🙂

So many quetions, what had actually happened to Danni,
what really happened to The Dude in Shanghai, how does Bandit know this isn’t “bad hacker stuff” (other then the global lack of programmers)?
I’m so excited to see what happens next 🙂

And Aneeka, great work keeping to your schedule, I think you are doing great, and I hope things are getting a little easier 🙂

The first picture that showed Danni’s injury focused on her ankle. I think the most likely scenario is that she tore her Achilles mid-jump, causing her to fall and break her neck. People were able to save her life, but she’s paralyzed from the neck down. Without the world’s advanced VR tech, she’d be a vegetable. She mentioned that a power outage when nobody’s there could kill her, so I’m guessing her heart beats properly (or else someone in the room wouldn’t make a difference), but she cannot breathe without assistance.

Yaaay! Yes, they’re not exactly the most coherent of people at times, but they’ve been through a lot, so I’m cutting them all some slack. (Except I still occasionally want to smack Bandit upside the head.) These various quirks *should* be there in people who’ve survived the End of the World! Loving it!

Well, I had thought the idea of a bunch of Esones might calm the Dude down (you know cause they can get them and NOT be on the verge of being eliminated); but logic has no effect against a panic attack.

It’s probably him processing it as a quadruple agent for Jake that Kleya found the undocumented room of Esones so quickly; considering his reaction earlier, I don’t think he knew this specific part.
