“While you studying the blade…The Dude was studying how to run.”

Nystran on 05/12/2020 @ 1:40 am

Did the dude get dusted?

Sing on 05/12/2020 @ 3:54 am

Is Bandit dead now? Or did he have any more Esones left?

kit ramos on 05/12/2020 @ 7:46 am

Kinda don’t think he’s dead, as with most video games once you get hit with the fatal blow there’s no “dying” your just dead even if it didn’t obliterate you just normal killed you, there’s no chance to get out a final “RUN” between getting hit and being dead.

Also I think since he orginally went into chase what he does know to be a very clever and hard to catch person,(Kat) it only makes sense he’s going to bring in some tricks up his own sleeve. course he didn’t expect to use them here, but he can see it’s a good time to use em. So I think he’s more invisible, but it also gives off a death animation or something similar right after so as to make it look more convincing encase anyone is watching.

I think he did have his Esone. At this point the entire party should be at none, though. They’ve all died once.

Adoni-Zedek on 05/13/2020 @ 5:50 am

Nope. Bandit and Dude have not died yet.

EndsBeginning on 05/13/2020 @ 7:43 am

Bandit just died so Dude is the last with a Esone. Which, if my memory isn’t playing tricks on me, also amusingly means that the bandit is the ONLY member of the party to have been killed by something OTHER than another party member. With friends like these…

kit ramos on 05/13/2020 @ 9:22 am

I do wonder if he’s really dead or is just faking it. in a situation like this the worst idea would be to try to get up if your not 100% you can fend off another attack. And I think he’s smart enough to know this, he also knows if he just lays there they will catch on he’s only playing dead, as that’s not how death in this game works. I think he’s using some trick to appear dead so they stop trying to attack him.

Unfortunately he said that he is very damaged and almost anything would kill him at this point. So I believe the game’s automatic soul state kicked in for him. He has some time to “float” away and reappear hopefully out of sight without an esone (which will hinder his abilities to retaliate).

kit ramos on 05/14/2020 @ 7:33 am

Yea he did say that. but he also knew they where in a suspicious area all the camera’s are gone and who knows who might be listening. We also know he’s very good at managing what he says in public, to the point he can even have a completely different conversation going on in private messages at the same time.

while I’ll admit it’s still possible he could of been telling the truth. I don’t think it would be out of character for him to overstate how hurt he is in this instance either, so that the bad guys will think they can one shot him. and he’s going to give them that show and then can investigate more easily as they aren’t going to think to look for him or think he might be spying on them if they think he’s dead.

especially since he can’t just go invisible, any one who knows him to any degree will know that’s quite out of character for him to take a quick exit from something like this, if such is even possible here. So even if they can’t figure out where/how he’s hiding they will figure he is somewhere that he can still over hear them and be way more careful than they would otherwise be making it more difficult for him to figure out what’s really going on.

Also even if he can’t directly retaliate, if he can relay vital information about their plans and motives to someone who can and will retaliate he doesn’t have to himself.

LOL we all have performance issues sometimes. No need to take it out on the poor guy.

Kale on 05/12/2020 @ 8:48 am

I would not be surprised if The Dude has a Special tailored to running faster when screaming.

kit ramos on 05/13/2020 @ 9:40 am

yea that makes sense to me as well. would also explain why he always screams when trying to run.

VoxelLibrary on 05/13/2020 @ 2:39 pm

He screams because he’s triggering the flee response, which heightens speed and luck stats.

GLJordan on 05/16/2020 @ 12:25 am

wonder if Dude’s special somehow carries someone behind him.

Adon-Zedek on 05/12/2020 @ 9:10 am

In panel one we see a dusty Bandit. In panel two, did Bandit leave his dust behind as he raced after The Dude? Cartoon-style?

Ophidiophile on 05/12/2020 @ 3:15 pm

The cameras are off; Kat might not be the only who has a few tricks up their sleeve that violate the End User License Agreement.

Chronos on 05/13/2020 @ 1:45 am

The best laid plans never survive contact with the Dude.

Steffen on 05/13/2020 @ 5:06 am

Looks like bandit just despawned, like Jane in https://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-746/
and for the Dudes Flee Special, it’s mentioned here: https://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-746/ though him fleeing is also just mentioned as a Flee response here: https://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-548/

EndsBeginning on 05/13/2020 @ 7:41 am

While it would be on brand that the Dude’s special has to do with running, I’m more willing to bet that it’s more along the line of the fear “emotion stat” as he tries to trigger the in game equivalent of fight or flight.
