With the channel interference, I wonder if she even *could* log in right now? Well, besides that it’s not like they could stop her.

This could give her cover to go in and blow stuff up though. And while Snowman’s group is a lot higher level than Bandit, I don’t know if it’s a good idea to fight him while nobody’s watching.

Later… what’s she busy with? “Sorry, moping too much to be a hero” lol May not be a villain, but still a ways to hero status. 🙂

Have to do some real things to help people… such as not bailing on your teammates who have real world consequences if they fail, rescuing those still in danger or helping rebuild society. Imagine it’s a game and you are losing so long as people are still suffering from the Dpocalypse.

To be fair, when she says it’s not safe to log in, what she’s afraid of is being hunted down and killed. That’s a pretty serious concern for anyone, hero or not.

HedronMyr on 04/01/2020 @ 8:36 am

While that’s true, one might argue that the best heroes take the risk to do the right thing. A hero isn’t a hero because they don’t face adversity–but because they do face adversity that we can relate to (even though it’s usually far worse), and what makes them heroes is how they handle that adversity, after.

Steeeve on 04/01/2020 @ 6:27 pm

You’d be hard pressed to find a real hero who would back down because of a little risk to themselves. If you only help others w/o risk, it’s just being a decent human being.

She isn’t aiming to be “good” or “heroic” but merely “not evil”. So her focus is on NOT doing things rather then DOING things.

Steeeve on 04/01/2020 @ 6:21 pm

They can barely survive as it is let alone hunt her down and D can take them out before they even try. D is probably bouncing her signal around so much it’s impossible to trace anyway. She only has to fear hurting more people and losing friends. :-/

Unfortunately, sometimes being the good guy means doing things you really don’t want to so you can help others. There’s limits of course, and I think we’re about to see how well Kleya is at pushing past her limits.

I really hope this is the end of the book, because that’s a pretty good way to make a cliffhanger.

I’m at least presuming Sandra is not in closer proximity to Jane’s daughter than Jane is out of the goodness of her heart, if Jane is not also there.

HedronMyr on 04/01/2020 @ 10:34 am

Remember what Jane said, about saving her kids. Is it possible that Sandra’s not quite the well meaning benefactor she’s been letting on to be?

GLJordan on 04/01/2020 @ 11:51 pm

Jane seems to be working with Sandra and Sandra having her Daughter might be Sandra’s reward for said help but that still leaves her other kids

Alexander The 1st on 04/04/2020 @ 2:52 pm

It could be that the idea is that if Jane works with Sandra, Sandra can try importing them one at a time.
