So… did she finally fail to stop herself from hacking?

Archangel on 01/22/2019 @ 12:29 pm

Yup.

Kat has the impulse control of a drunk rabbit and I adore her.

Bandit’s going to have to talk pretty fast to keep this from exploding in his face (possibly literally).

Steeeve on 01/16/2019 @ 1:42 pm

It’s like putting drugs in front of an addict. She thinks it’s a trap and knows she shouldn’t hack, knows it’s safe, but can’t stop from hacking it. >_<

At least he saw it, cats out now, no denying it! Does she lash out or does she run and hide? Did she really change the trajectory or did she make it visible?

And what's with that surprised look in panel 5? You'd think she'd be ready for an attack with determination unless whatever Kat did changed what usually happened enough that Danni will be rather angry with bandit for not running the same "program". hehe 🙂

Kat is apparently the WORST HACKER EVER.
Good hackers spot traps. And AvOID them.

zingowner on 01/21/2019 @ 6:29 am

From what I’ve seen, I get the impression that Kleya was simply too powerful to need to avoid traps in the past. When you can have complete control over your environment, just noticing a trap is usually good enough.

Darkening on 01/21/2019 @ 11:48 pm

I expect the problem is she’s so wired into the system with such great software on her system that she can just effortlessly act on her impulses without needing to give it any real deliberation or conscious action, which is great for outplaying someone in real time, not so hot for avoiding impulsive decisions.

Kale on 01/15/2019 @ 6:14 am

Oh, Kleya.

Did she change the trajectory of a ball that was gonna miss anyway?

mightycleric on 01/15/2019 @ 7:46 am

If Kat is hacking, which seems to be the case based on the glow and Bandit’s reaction in the last panel, I hope that Bandit keeps calm enough to give a warning that Kat will know is for her, but that Danni will think is for her. Something along the lines of:

“You can’t let that happen in the actual game! If you do, it will all be over, and you’ll end up dead. I really don’t want you to die, so I will do what I can to protect you. I know you are trying to improve, but you need to control yourself much better if you’re going to survive.”

If so, this might be the opportunity needed to let Kat know that she has an ally who knows who she is, but is still on her side.

kit ramos on 01/17/2019 @ 10:08 pm

what I think happened is he started out having the thing fly towards her and then was going to have it get knocked off course, but he notices cat was in that mode and wanted to see what she was up to and forgot about the ball. until he happened to notice forgot to divert it away from Dani. and that’s what’s with the “Oh sh**” look.

Danni is dodging, but is she dodging fast enough that Keiko can dodge hacking? How much of Keiko’s activity can Jake pick up? If Keiko does hack, will they finally reveal to each other that they do know the other’s identity? So. Many. Questions! 🙂

O8h7w on 01/16/2019 @ 4:27 pm

At first read, with no comments, I took the glow to mean that K had the rocket focused/opened for modification but had not actually changed anything yet. Then Danni’s face as a normal amount of surprise for a rocket appearing headed towards you in VR, taking into account that while she is prepared for it she is certainly not used to this kind of thing yet. And then Jake’s face as intense suspense

But now I think Jake really looks surprised. Why, though? He would not be surprised if K did what she used to do or just something more subtle. If she did anything I’d go with making the rocket visible slightly ahead of schedule, but if Jake’s face is from surprise, then he is too surprised for that. Maybe K actually did nothing yet and Jake is surprised that Danni is dodging quickly enough on her own? No idea anymore. Maybe it’s too late in the evening for me now.

Iron Ed on 01/15/2019 @ 6:59 pm

Just noticed the rocket(?) in panel five now has a glow the same color as Kat’s eyes in panel four. Maybe Kat just fixed it so Danni could see it sooner and have more time to dodge?

Orrrr… Did Kat, perhaps, “help” Danni dodge faster??

Steeeve on 01/16/2019 @ 1:47 pm

Whatever she did, it looks like she manipulate the rocket.

Iron Ed on 01/17/2019 @ 7:25 pm

Thinking about the last panel; maybe Kat re-aimed the rocket to hit Bandit instead of Danni. LOL

Steeeve on 01/19/2019 @ 2:10 pm

Haha, that’d be great. ^_^

Dragon Master on 01/16/2019 @ 9:42 pm

I originally thought Kat had thrown herself in front of Danni to serve as a human shield, and thus blowing Bandit’s mind. But it seems everyone else is saying she did something with the projectile instead.

GLJordan on 01/17/2019 @ 1:20 am

friend danger action

JonesNate on 01/18/2019 @ 8:49 am

I think it’s time for Kat and Bandit to have a talk.

FatedDarkly on 01/19/2019 @ 9:29 pm

KAT, DON’T YOU NEO THAT BULLET!
