What’s with that face in panel 5? Is it super girly and/or sparkly? Or maybe he hates the music? I’m really curious as to what this dance scenario looks like.

Maybe the random encounters are drawn really, really poorly.

Or their code is sloppy.

It would presumably be his newest code writing stuff, so maybe it’s that everything else is refined, but that *specifically* is really sloppily put together.

It’s similar to the look I give our customers when we advise against doing a thing but they insist on doing it anyway (like trying to wedge a big screen TV into a small car, usually). I usually accompany it with “okie dokie”, myself…

I’m quite versed in making the panel 4 and 5 faces myself…
“‘you want me to tell you why the server crashed yesterday afternoon, and you explicitly purge your logs every day at midnight?”
“‘you say that our digital signature that protects against tampering is not valid on our files you edit?” (Also violates our EULA…)

Basically: “You are asking for pain. Are you sure you know what you are doing? Because I should get popcorn.”

He’s afraid she’s gonna get herself killed showing off for her pastel goth girlfriend, isn’t he.

Guessing it isn’t his favorite program to show Kat and someone is going to fail spectacularly at it.

Kat constantly looks like she needs a hug so someone hug her already! 🙂

The only one who could hug her at this point is Mina, and she’s not here at the moment.

As for the people present here, Danni doesn’t do hugs, and Bandit is scared (and kinda was told not to talk to her).

Bah, it’d be worth it and hugging isn’t talking so technically he wouldn’t be breaking the deal. 😉

Plus I don’t think he’s THAT afraid of her, just wary, else he wouldn’t be testing her like this. Like owning a bear, you know at any moment he may just decide you’d be a tasty treat, but it doesn’t stop you from getting a bear hug. ^_^

Hi, Daniel here, long time reader, been a while between posts however…

Got a question for our esteemed Author, if that’s OK- what kind of technology DID the outside world have before the End? I remember they have robots and a underwater City, but I’m curious what else. Real World Kat floats while using her implanted connection, but did they have floating cars? Did Military Forces have laser weapons, rail guns or still relied on lumps of metal fired by explosions? Plus D seems to be THE most powerful AI ever, but does that mean A, B & C were respectable, or were they lacking?

Sorry if all this is a lot to ask, and may have been answered already or soon. I’m enjoying this webcomic a lot, but my brain is nagging me for this information & I will admit, I would like to know…

Good questions… plus was there an A, B, C or does D just stand for Dragon?

Most of these questions will be answered in the story, but for now, I’ll say:
1) the tech of this world has a twenty-minutes-into-the-future-trope vibe. Because Kleya is the main character, the story tends to focus on the latest/coolest inventions but that doesn’t mean it was always common for everyone else.
2) Mechas have more options than just bullets.
3) ‘D’ is a nickname. Nor was he originally designed to be super powerful.

Well this looks like a fun thing about to happen 😀

And probably a disaster 😀
