Please note: NAV is updating only on Tuesdays until the end of this year. I will post guest art/comics, if I get any, on Friday. If I don't, then it will be silent.

It's taken Danni days to pull it off, too.

Kat, DON’T. HACK.

AceOfSpade on 11/13/2018 @ 3:58 am

Kat, no… I mean yes it would probably be easier but it might be cheating and I don’t think Danny would appreciate you doing that. She values her efforts and training.

Dusk on 11/13/2018 @ 7:48 am

Kat is channeling every experienced gamer who’s had to watch a family member struggle through the first level of their favorite game.

Marduk on 11/13/2018 @ 1:06 pm

Me: “No, you need to turn left there.”

Family: “Shut up and let me play!”

DragonMaster on 11/13/2018 @ 8:53 am

Kat let the girl be happy and don’t tamper with the system.

friendlymosquito on 11/13/2018 @ 9:09 am

No, Kleya, Danni wouldn’t want that! Cheating makes you weak! D:

Daisy on 11/13/2018 @ 9:36 am

Kat’s that friend that wants to help you with your math homework by solving it for you rather than teaching you. I can feel her frustration but patience is one more skill she’ll have to work on.

Auryn on 11/13/2018 @ 10:14 am

Kleya isn’t used to working within rules, because if she didn’t like the system she would change it. Danni has never had that option, nor have most others. I’m sure kleya will still think her way is easier and better, but maybe she will understand a little of the elation her friend feels at accomplishing something the hard way.

>>” if she didn’t like the system she would change it”<<

The Captain Kirk of gamers? 😉

EV on 11/15/2018 @ 4:50 pm

Kleya: “I don’t believe in a no-win situation.”

Captain Kleya on 11/15/2018 @ 6:16 pm

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before!

abibliboop on 11/16/2018 @ 3:07 pm

And to waste untold amounts of time in holo-deck simulators.

Cannibalism on 11/13/2018 @ 10:17 am

No, baby, don’t do it!

Johnny on 11/13/2018 @ 3:07 pm

Awww Kat doesn’t realize that the things that come so naturally to her aren’t necessarily so easy for other people…

Guest on 11/13/2018 @ 5:45 pm

Did Bandit actually plan this, or is it just an accident that Kleya is being slowly driven insane by watching something that COULD BE BETTER >_<

Rowen Morland on 11/13/2018 @ 10:47 pm

That’s a skill he needs her to have if he’s going to trust her to improve the world.

Keybounce on 11/14/2018 @ 9:33 am

Oh, “it could be better! Arrgh!” is so me! <<====

When I was in college, a friend and I would play some of the LOTR Gamecube games in the lobby of my dorm. (The dorms weren’t co-ed, so we had to play them in a public place.) We were so bad at the games, but very determined to succeed, so we would play the same levels multiple times, slowly making progress. We discovered, though, that we often drew a crowd of people interested to watch us, despite our failings (or, more likely, because of them).

Many were good at the games, and found some amusement in our slow progress, but in the end some of them were also slightly jealous. After all, succeeding at games came easy to them, so they expected it, and would get frustrated by games they couldn’t beat easily enough.

In contrast, when we would finally succeed at different levels, we had a very real sense of accomplishment, because of how much we had worked at it, and we actually beat some parts of the games (like Saruman’s Tower) that some of the “better gamers” had given up on for being too hard.

So I guess I can very easily relate to Danni, here, and hope that Kat doesn’t interfere, because the sense of accomplishment that Danni will have when succeeding at different stages of the game will surpass what Kat has felt in most of her accomplishments (at least until she succeeds at her idea of “being good”), and if she supports her in that, she will feel a sense of joy that she couldn’t expect, too.

I hope this is what’s going to happen <3 <3 <3

One question I just asked myself is, how much does Kleya actually know about Danni? Like, is she aware that Danni is, well, a bit older than her L.i.F.e and Game avatars appear to be?

Nikary Flare on 11/17/2018 @ 4:56 am

Huh? How old is Danni?

GLJordan on 11/14/2018 @ 8:39 pm

she knows the most about her out of everybody else in the story.

Caryn on 11/16/2018 @ 7:54 am

Hey, Aneeka, have you checked your email? 🙂 I sent you guest art.
