Even more proof Kleya was right to be worried about touching or changing anything in the server that Jake would notice.

It is really obvious what she’s saying but I still misread it a “no, not that kind of traps.” for a second.

Well, on the plus side, Kleya didn’t bolt as some surmised she might…

Kat’s face in panel 4 is frikken adorable and I love Danni. Also it occurs to me Danni might be the first “real” friend Kat has ever had…

I don’t know, he sounds like he might actually be her friend… she just doesn’t know it. lol

I love Danni’s expression in the last panel and that D’s like “oh? Traps? You want traps? I can do that”.

Seriously, Danni, in a social situation everyone at least gets a “hello.” A gentleman can do no less.

Actually, that was the specific thing Dani said to get Kat to agree. He wouldn’t talk to her or she would tell him off and they would leave. So, she’s told him off, hopefully next page will be them leaving and Bandit having to try to get them back in (though I’m expecting Kat to say it’s ok to stay… I really want Bandit to suffer for bullying/killing outsiders). Minimal guilt on his part beyond wanting to buy off the parents as an apology.

Can they still do whispers in here or is it just in the Game?

I’m pretty sure the big issue is that, on his private server, whispers are rare enough that Tenka could bother to look into them.

Acknowledgement that she’s there in the first place is okay. Almost anything more without her offering first, though, is the line.

Unless the understanding was that there wouldn’t be any acknowledgement or direct communication what-so-ever. Then it is a direct violation of that promised agreement, as evidenced by Dani’s response in the last panel. He’s already on the “we can’t trust you because you’re Tenka” and “directly responsible for bad things happening to outsiders” lists, now he gets added to the “your word is meaningless” list assuming he agreed to the conditions Kat had that Dani promised previously to get her to show up.

It can be kind of hard to completely ignore someone in close proximity, especially when it’s just a featureless box with a total of 3 people in it.

You could say it’s more of an acknowledgement of someones presence rather than actually talking to them. Not acknowledging someone can be taken as an insult, but I almost think Kat would be relieved by it. But then she’d probably get more paranoid.

I keep wanting him to throw in that he knows her… or at least hint at it.

I thought he was being watched super closely (even in a private room Tenka might be able to catch something unusual) which is specifically why he wasn’t do anything like (he’s even been accused of hiding that it is her if I remember correctly).

Plus, they both knows its each other (beyond just strong suspicion) and you’d think that smart people like them would already know that the other person knows or at least assumes its them (justifiable paranoia) so you’d have to directly confirm it and then where do you go from there (doubly so as they would need to be genuinely private with no Dani around for that conversation and we all know that won’t happen any time soon)? We know they’ll get there, but the dancing around the issue is what makes this story so fun and intriguing. 8^D

No prob, Aneeka! Tuesday happens to be one of my busy days, so getting a NAV only on Tuesdays will still make my week.

My bet is Bandit will say, “Anywaaay,” in the next first panel. (Or something like that to try to deflect away from confrontation.) If it were me, I would have just given Kat a slight bow, without vocalizing. That’s a polite, unspoken way of saying hello, in many cultures. It wouldn’t cause the foot-in-moufh issue that Bandit’s having now.

By the way, there’s an easy way for Jake to clear up the air a little. He wants to let Kat know he’s Jake? Introduce himself to DANNI as Jake, with Kat in the room. Then explain TO DANNI his side of the story, of what happened. (My theory: Kleya was trying to blow up some other target, but TENKA redirected the attack, which resulted in The Hospital being blown up. Jake joined TENKA to get to the bottom of this, but was sent on the “Capture Kleya” mission before he could get the Intel he needed. So, Jake STILL doesn’t know who’s responsible for blowing up The Hospital, and now the person who could help him is AWOL, with good reason. Rewinding… After her attack was redirected, Kleya went revenge-crazy. She hacked as many robots as she could find and went on a rampage, destroying TENKA as much as she could. Unfortunately, she couldn’t reach their HQ, where the sorry excuse for a man, the one who gave the ‘redirect attack’ order, lived. So, she kicked her hacking up a notch. If computers alone weren’t enough, she’d destroy that enemy by using nature itself! But how do you use nature as a weapon. It doesn’t exactly have a Wi-Fi connection to hack. But airplanes do. So, she hacked and ordered airplanes, ICBM’s, etc., to hack the Earth’s magnetic field. That would surely work, right? Unfortunately, a little too well. Or actually, a LOT too well. Her hacking had unintended consequences. She only wanted to blow up TENKA HQ. But, she also, unintentionally, blew up Yellowstone Supervolcano, as well as several others around the globe. And, wouldn’t you know it, TENKA’s leader, Mr. Jackass, had already prepared for global chaos. [I can just imagine him sitting in a spinning chair, petting that fluffy, white cat, while the world is literally falling apart at its fault-line seams.] Then, Mr. Jack*** blamed the whole thing on Kleya. Which, of course, turned the world against her. So, Kleya went into isolation, and started reversing the damage she’d caused. First, she tried to reason with everyone. But, hacking everything for a video broadcast doesn’t end well when the world hates you. So, she changed plans and started hacking secretly. A plane here, a missile there; anything she could do to patch up the Earth. That’s why we saw the monitor in her ship, and why she asked D about earthquakes and volcanoes. She doesn’t trust Jake because she doesn’t realize that he was trying to find the truth and was redirected, just like her attacks were redirected.)

Huh, did you forget to line Bandit’s shirt?

I’ve always liked Danni’s ponytail. 🙂
