Oh man, I love Danni’s expression in the last panel.

Danni: “What are you, three?”

I read it more as “not what I asked” 😛

That’s the face of someone thinking “okay, MAYBE gray might be better”

So wrong…yet so right. So unexpected, yet so obvious in retrospect.

Do we know why just yellow and pink? I don’t remember the backstory for that.

She feels they are heroic colors because they were her mother’s favorite colors. There may have been more specifics, but that’s the general idea as far as I remember…

I thought I remembered it in the section where they’re getting the new costumes, but she says she doesn’t like red/black and wants only pink/yellow…

It might be one of those convos with Dani or maybe a flashback of some sort :/ but I am pretty certain it’s explained that they were her mother’s colors.

Pink is her mother’s favourite colour, but yellow is Keiko’s own favourite colour.

Ugh, Jake probably knows what her favorite colors are, too. She doesn’t know that he knows, so that’d be a good reason not to decorate.

Don’t say that! Grey is a real favourite colour and any other answer will have Danni giving you money! Did Danni pay her after the loan with double value interest was repaid, or are they just passing the same money back and forth?

Danni needs to give Kleya a lesson in self care. She’s gonna break with all the weight she’s putting on herself. Not that it isn’t understandable, but ya gotta take breaks.

I get it that yellow and pink are her “non-threatening, heroic” colors… but what are her OWN favorite colors? Not that she’d ever use them here.

I’m going to guess bright orange, the color of animated explosions; and non-pastel yellow, the color presented as the color of code and D’s manifestation. Arguably that’s red-orange and yellow-orange. Put them together to do a Better animation when things go boom!

…or to draw the Deconstruct Me logo. Hm.

Her favorite colors are fiery explosion red and shadowy black (with gleaming lethal edge glints). That didn’t work out for her in the past and has been relegated to a forbidden topic.

Danni is missing the fact that Kleya doesn’t live in her box, it’s just a place to stow her avatar while she’s logged out (and experiencing reality in her shadowy realm of glinting metal things). Which is natural, many people use L.i.F.e as a way to escape the drudgery and despair of reality, and she herself is a special case (pure despair with no ameliorating drudgery).

Red and black seems possible bordering on too obvious. It would explain why she hated the red and black avatar design so badly, though! Too risky.

And yeah, it was my understanding that Yellow was her favourite colour because it matched Demoli, but Kleya was trying to send a message with her character that it was going Erbana with Pink, her mother’s colour.

She was trying to set the message that she’s willing to be a hero to anyone who recognized her – and then *everyone* ignored it apparently.

I actually agree with Keiko on the money point. She can too live in a gray box if it saves money. I mean it’s just her private room and it’s in virtual reality, so who cares?

I mean…Yellow walls, pink sofa and a table, not impossible to get a good aesthetic going. Even easier if she’s fine with some white or grey to tie it all together.

Yeah. A soft yellow on the walls, some pastel pinks and whites, with variants of yellow for the accent color. I can dig it.

Maybe she’ll realize her mistake if she’s forced to spend a few hours in a pink and yellow box. Maybe.

So whats wrong with changing a few color settings or loading a few wall textures in those colors? Are they banned or premium access only or something?

K doesn’t want to actually have a pink and yellow room, she is not personally fond of those colors. They are “Erbana/pacifist/feminine” colors which are part of her heroine design, but she’s not keen on being completely surrounded by them.

It’s okay to wear them, cause she doesn’t have to look at them, they are for others to see.

On the other hand, she knows how insecure the system is and that makes her paranoid about leaking information. If she uses any colors she actually likes, that gives her enemies more data points to confirm her actual identity, which would kinda wreck all her plans (whatever they are).

Also, they do charge L.i.F.e. currency for basically every kind of customization option. And some of her friends use that currency to buy food shipments (at a radical discount, it’s basically charity for Outsiders, but they do still charge them). But that’s not the real issue, her friends have custom outfits and wall colors, since they can only spend so much of their money on food anyway. They aren’t trying to hide their real identities from the entire world, after all.
