Wait wait wait wait …. he copied an eye flick move he saw her do while her eyes and a good portion of her upper face where completely covered? The h*** man, you got x-ray vision or something? Not like he could read muscle movements in her cheeks or brows due to them also being covered.

And now we see why he is considered ‘Good’ enough to make friend. And maybe have a standard of what good enough meant.

notice how he paused and almost stammered when trying to explain how he did it. he did not find out by copying her movies. no he was able to hack into learn the move set that way. you don’t always have to change things when you hack and if he didn’t attempt to change anything just read and decipher codes that wheren’t protected that wouldn’t set off any alarm bells either.

suspicious…

I know you are grumpy little Kleya(forgot actual name) but let’s be honest that just makes it more impressive

Sureen Ink on 08/31/2018 @ 5:10 pm

Seems like Kleya’s real name might be “Keiko” as that’s what Jake called her just a short time ago ^^

Tom on 08/31/2018 @ 6:58 pm

Keiko

Jake: The way you flick your eyes is so beautiful it shines through your headset.

Or more realistically:
J: Ok, you got me. Your dad told me how to do it.
K: So he also told you to lie about it to impress me?
J: Did it work?
K: I hate liars. Now everything goes boom!
Dad: Girl I am so glad that you don’t spend your puberty trashing your environment in reality. That could be the end of the world.

Alexander The 1st on 08/31/2018 @ 11:14 pm

I think more likely the eye flick was more of an instinctive thing – or alternatively her code leaks at this stage, and he could see that it was relevant once doing the rest of the actions.

Is that why Europes in the process of blowing up?

kit ramos on 09/03/2018 @ 6:53 am

doesn’t have to be that. if his hacking/coding skills are anywhere near K’s level then I think it’s more likely that between the time he entered the game and the time she called the mech he had already taken a peek at the code. he wouldn’t have to go into deep or modify anything. it would be a matter of getting his headset into debug mode and finding out what event listeners are active and what they are looking for. unless these are custom headsets that information, at least as far as far was what physical movement maps to what in game actions wouldn’t be in a protected memory space. So thus if he was good enough he could find out that way how it works. And I believe that’s the whole reason he got that far in the interviews and such.

Gilly on 08/31/2018 @ 8:00 pm

I suspect he was trained to give him a chance, or the game was part of the interview test.

Drake on 08/31/2018 @ 10:57 pm

I suspect he Hacked, and he admits it and she is impressed. If I recall correctly, at this point in her life she views cheating as just another way of playing.

And some of us think that the moves in fighting games are crazy 🙂

Lurchibald on 09/04/2018 @ 12:26 am

Tai Lung: [exhausted after fighting Po] You… can’t defeat me! You… you’re just a big… fat… panda!

[He throws a weak punch, Po catches his hand by the finger]

Po: I’m not a big fat panda. I’m THE big fat panda.

[he raises his pinkie]

Tai Lung: [gasps] The Wuxi finger hold!

Po: Oh, you know this hold.

Tai Lung: You’re bluffing. You’re bluffing! Shifu didn’t teach you that!

Po: Nope. I figured it out. Skidoosh.

I don’t know if anyone thought of this before;

What if the “hacker apocalypse” was actually a “game” that her dad set up where only hackers could play successfully. And towards the end of the game he connected the game to the real world. While “playing” the game, real people looked like monsters and robots looked like players.
