I like this style, too. It looks like a really pretty painting that describes a dream. Like Keiko’s life.
But since I like playing computer games and thus know what unfinished games look like, I did SO not understand what that art style actually means. I would’ve expected e.g. some missing textures, so that some objects are see-through with black outlines, or that the coloring is missing here and there, but thanks to the previous page’s mouse-over text I got it in the end.

I guess the idea is that it’s basically sketches / roughly expected colors instead of finished textures and 3D models

but yeah this comic’s idea of video game technology overlaps very little with my experience of it -_-

Their tech is different than ours, so their methods can be radically different as well. There’s no reason to assume that they need to adhere to how it’s done in our world. 🙂
