D…”I can kill them all first.”

Kin on 01/09/2018 @ 7:40 am

Naw…it’s not a bad art day – just that panel 3 sucked all the art out of the rest of the page! ^_^

Iron Ed on 01/09/2018 @ 9:11 pm

I also rather like panel 2. It really shows Kleya’s loneliness. So sad!

Alex on 01/09/2018 @ 7:41 am

Poor Kleya. If she were to save Jane’s kids they’d suspect her of being her. So sad. She could probably make everyone’s lives better within a few days max.

kit ramos on 01/09/2018 @ 3:52 pm

if she did it directly sure. She might be able with D’s help to work out a sequence of events that leads to them getting help. but still it’s quite smart of Kat to make sure it’s not a trap before she trys to set anything in motion.

Verily!
If she goes in person, well…

If she sends bots? With this timing it would obviously be her, and there is no way that “controls robots” would go without comment. Perhaps not an admission of being the D.C. leader, or even necessarily D.C. at all, but definitely a hacker, and an extremely good one at that… Being “the leader” would have to be a consideration, especially if she is completely allergic to cities even with assurances that they will care for her and really are that desperate.

She has no human allies she could send without raising the same suspicions with however she contacted THEM.

A TENka drone conveniently goes astray? Entirely too convenient with the timing…

She has no way of sending a message without tipping her hand, so telling them about a supply cache is out.

Even if some water-main bursts or something else to attract their attention to some robot laden-down with supplies that they just happened not to notice in their prior supply runs, it is just way too suspicious if Jane gets some sort of windfall just as she pleads her case to Kat.

I really don’t see much of an option aside from inviting them onto the sub. I mean, at least then Mary-Jane’s children are both cared for and also serving as hostages to keep Mary-Jane from saying anything in L.i.f.E. considering that they are trapped in a box with a world-destroying Cyborg that currently likes them but is known to have a temper…

D. trying to cheer Kleya up is everything I needed. Love it 😀

Iron Ed on 01/09/2018 @ 9:13 pm

Is.. Is D actually showing emotion? That he is capable of caring?!? Or, is he just mimicking it?

friendlymosquito on 01/11/2018 @ 6:29 pm

Who cares?! Invisible dragon cuddles!!!

In seriousness though, my guess would be that D “cares” about Kleya, but in a sort of sociopathic way, like he’s 100% loyal to her but that doesn’t mean he feels emotions and empathy and stuff the way humans necessarily would?

Interesting to imagine her in the kido in the submersible in that position. Ouch ouch ouch

Lord Torath on 01/11/2018 @ 12:29 pm

She doesn’t use a Kido, though. They’re the “coffin” things everyone else uses. Kleya’s got her implant and exoskeleton.

Chiu ChunLing on 01/12/2018 @ 11:53 am

The Hakido probably has the same ability to activate the second degree sleep mechanism interrupting transmission of motor signals to the body that the Kido must have, but it isn’t as required, since Kleya doesn’t like it. Actually, I’d surmise that it probably leaves her body in a neutral position until logout/in, at which point it can synch the position. I mean, this was designed for people to be able to use it outside (or rather that was the whole point), so it would be…hilarious if the users bodies were mimicking all their movements in Game.

At any rate, the Hakido is clearly designed to avoid compromising full range of motion. You can see here that it goes on the outside of her limbs, and the stabilization bands aren’t near her joints.

DRAGON HUGZ!!!!

Dragon Master on 01/09/2018 @ 12:59 pm

D: *in sing-songy tone* “You want me kill them all? Would that make you better?”
Kleya: *sighs with weariness* “No but thanks, let’s just stick to the plan.”
D: *whines* “But, but Mastermind why not? It’d be fun.”

* I always imagined D’s voice dropping an octave whenever he called Kleya Mastermind

Keybounce on 01/09/2018 @ 1:01 pm

I just noticed that her eyes glow when she’s in D-space

antrik on 01/14/2018 @ 3:08 am

Everything glows in D-space…

eldestdawn on 01/09/2018 @ 2:21 pm

Anyone else see D and think he just wants some petting? Maybe ear scritches?

Jessen on 01/10/2018 @ 8:19 am

Oh goodness D is ADORABLE! *squee*

Nathaniel - Xenithos on 01/10/2018 @ 11:58 am

Tell me D doesn’t stand for Dragon. If that’s the case this took me way too long to realize. Or Daemon. It can’t be Daemon either.

Skinner on 01/10/2018 @ 5:11 pm

Like the Unix background service kind of daemon?

Nine on 01/12/2018 @ 9:54 pm

I think the title D means daddy because he,Kats father, was the original programmer of mastermind, before it became the virus.

GLJordan on 01/10/2018 @ 10:29 pm

think it is a good art day. I see D saying I will protect you Mistress

GLJordan on 01/10/2018 @ 10:29 pm

also I so want to give her a hug right now

Ashley P. on 01/11/2018 @ 8:44 am

Why do I feel like he’s offering to kill them first?

Pixie on 01/12/2018 @ 12:55 pm
