‘Not A Villain’ Webcomic – Page 631

Sandra has a good grasp of Jane's idiosyncrasies. Doesn't mean she appreciates them, though.

IT WORKED?! o.o

Why are we typing this?

Magnema on 12/19/2017 @ 7:36 am

Aye, ‘t worked.

[Xio: See the hover text.]

Killianti on 12/21/2017 @ 6:11 am

I can’t see title text. What’s going on?

swk3000 on 12/22/2017 @ 2:22 am

I’m on a mobile device, so I can’t see hover text. What is everyone talking about?

Didn’t work for me but mostly due to habit. Quickly figured it out though The placement of the far island shore to almost line up with the page gutter made it seem like the last panel was actually two, initially.

Drgnhawk on 12/19/2017 @ 1:20 pm

It worked for me, but I agree that the accidental match of the light/dark boundary in the background of the last panel made me briefly try to see it as two panels. The fact that the characters both cross that boundary sorted me out pretty quickly, but it caught the eye oddly for a moment.

Also, Jane has a good grasp of Kleya.

Zigraphix on 12/19/2017 @ 2:02 pm

Yes, I think this is one of the more interesting points of this bit of dialogue. 🙂 Some could have interpreted Kat’s actions as complete dismissal of the whole conversation. Jane seems to realize otherwise. I also think Jane’s remark to Kat to “be nice” was a very interesting tactic on her part.

BaufenBeast on 12/19/2017 @ 8:56 pm

I don’t think she has quite realized Danni’s position, though. I think she’s realized that Kleya is very invested in keeping Danni in the game, but it doesn’t seem like she’s considered that Danni might be on life support, and can only fully live in an environment like the game.

Yea, is not my first thought when meeting someone for the first time.

Rex Vivat on 12/19/2017 @ 4:57 pm

Sorry, it didn’t work for me.

David D on 12/19/2017 @ 7:41 pm

It didn’t work for me, but the limited quantity of dialog made it easy to try different ways.

I’m beginning to think…

…if everyone got together and actually talked with each other, we might eliminate several layers of potential drama. … which is something our octupple spy (or whatever he is) could easily arrange.
…
There has to be a good reason that’s not happened. Tenka, Grace, I’m looking at you now.

GLJordan on 12/22/2017 @ 10:53 pm

getting everybody together only works if they are all pursuing the same goal or at least goals that work together

antrik on 12/20/2017 @ 2:37 am

Didn’t work for me; but I suspect this is mostly due to scrolling: if I had seen the page in its entirety (such as in the printed book), most likely it would have been different.

Chiu ChunLing on 12/20/2017 @ 7:37 am

Jane has a way with words.

In particular, she answers the question, Kat didn’t say much. But Jane avoids answering in a way that reveals she wasn’t listening.

Aneeka, the login session has gone funny again. I imediately get logged out when I navigate away from the welcome page. The “Remember me” option doesn’t do anything, and I have cookies enabled.

Killianti on 12/21/2017 @ 6:16 am

Oh! Now I’m logged in. I don’t know what’s going on.

noisyparker on 12/21/2017 @ 8:57 am

The coastline in the last panel made it not work for me initially (since it created kind of a natural panel-border-looking thing that was in line with the border between the left panels, and my brain filled in the rest), but I figured it out after wondering why the order of the “Thinking” bubbles seemed off.

I’m a little concerned with how Jane’s gripping her weapon.

Nystran on 02/01/2018 @ 1:38 pm

“… then we will have to make it hers”

@Aneeka, I’d love to buy one of your mugs, are you planning on opening the store anytime soon? (I’m still *#!@ that Patreon changed their funding rules, so my small monthly donation just got smaller)

Aneeka on 02/01/2018 @ 3:01 pm

I didn’t have plans to open the store soon since I’m gearing up to run a Kickstarter for Book 5 and will offer the mugs then (sometime in April/May) or would you rather get a mug from the store?
Also, Patreon ended up NOT changing their funding rules due to the severe backlash they received, so you’re still good!

Nystran on 02/03/2018 @ 11:47 am

Thanks for the update on Patreon. Getting one in a kickstarter is fine. It’s just I missed them last kickstarter (if I remember correctly they were a stretch goal that was only unlocked in the last few days of the campaign, so I missed out…)
