Beg for another option? I think “demand” is the correct word here. I don’t see Kim as a begging person. I wish I knew what her point of view is regarding the virus, aside from, apparently, “Don’t use Bandit to try to become its new master”. What does she want to be done about the virus?

When this dialog is over I’m going to reread it and the dialog with Kim as well.

@panel 6: I saw that response coming from a mile off. Jake probably did, too, but I think he just wanted to convey the message “I hate my job and I don’t want to do that”.
Just say “no” for once, man. You’re not a puppet. What is he gonna do? Replace you now?

The Virus appears to be more or less dormant when no one is doing any of the things it finds interesting, so I’m guessing that the consensus opinion on what to do with it is “Stay far away from it and hope it never wakes up”.

I do not like the Kat displaced,
I do not like her, Dr. Grace!

(Suuure you don’t, buddy…)

What’s he gonna do? How about cut off food? No more Mr. Nice Guy.

Well we already know that Jake can live on outsider rations. Of course all of this came back from him lying about Kat being who she was. He’s really into a d***ed if he does d***ed if he doesn’t state. Jake really needs to figure out what he wants before lots of blobs get killed. This thing is so much a train wreck in the process of happening… maybe somebody just needs to wack the president character because that really looks like the source of all of the problem since he was the one trying to kill Kat to begin with.

I really hope somebody reading this realizes that this is all in relation to this comic.

I wonder if this “hack the virus” plan is version 2.0 of the plan that killed Dr. Grace’s son? Leaving aside all the reasons why Kleya would never let it get to the point of “once she is en-route,” it’s extremely ironic that Dr. Grace wants to “rescue” her from outside in order to get permission for Jake to do something that would never work unless she was actually dead.

Of course, if she actually came, and they actually assigned *her* to do the job, that would be different 😉

Wow, Dr. Grace. Megalomaniac much?

The funny thing about all of this is that Jake actually wants to befriend her for his own reasons, but now he has to do that without letting his bosses know that he’s doing what they want him to do. This is going to be great.

Hoo, this is heating up nicely.

Dr. Grace, Dr. Grace, you were so close. She is not a means to an end. She is an end to your means!

“There is one flaw to this plan.”

“One?” (as in only one???)

So there is no “flaw” to “prodding the Virus”???
No potential threat to the world???
Really???
