I don’t see anything wrong with today’s art.

Can’t wait to see what Dr. Grace’s plan is, including the current phase and the next phase. So… I hope that they’ll talk about that. 🙂

Btw: What’s your current status? Still drowning in work or are you able to take it a bit more slowly now that LiFe-style has been back? Will there be time for hangouts?

Christopher on 06/23/2017 @ 5:31 am

Well, the best laid plans of mice and man, or however that saying goes.

Liliet on 06/23/2017 @ 2:54 am

They are so cute??? all of them are just. so. great. i love them

Well there goes the theory that Dr. Grace is Kleya or Bandit’s father. There’s still a chance the president is Kleya’s dad, so let’s not give up fellow conspiracy theorists!

Gilly on 06/25/2017 @ 2:48 am

The president is Klaya’s father and wants her dead. It is not specifically stated but it is in the reality pages and last time we saw Grace and Bandit discussing waking the president.

Shachar on 06/26/2017 @ 11:26 pm

I think Kelya’s dad is Saisuke. That’s why he never took to clearing the island from the AIs – it is his island.

KTrimbach on 06/28/2017 @ 5:44 pm

I can believe that either Saisuke or the president could be her father. Could they possibly be the same person? I really doubt that he wants her dead. But anything’s possible.

Well, I learned something very important today about Dr. Grace. He enjoys sitting in the most. uncomfortable. chair. ever.

SiliconWolf on 06/23/2017 @ 12:22 pm

When eviling, an overlord cannot neglect things like improper back support. A pinched back nerve is especially effective in insuring that you don’t slip up and have a moment of niceness in front of your minions.

Silliness aside, this is L.I.F.E. It’s a poorly running virtual reality world. I bet it was drawn that way on purpose. But if it was an accident, I vote it be left that way. It reminds me that this is nowhere near the author/artist’s true talent, but done this way on purpose.

Our talented author/artist once commented in the forum that she was using blobs because she had trouble with overhead views. But just look at that panel 1! Perfectly captures Kim’s body language, the space between them (both literally and figuratively), Bandit’s projected confidence. You can practically hear their voices.

Alex on 06/23/2017 @ 1:33 pm

I miss the Blobs.

curios as to why Dr. Grace is always in a chair? as there been plenty of other examples where people who have admitted to being crippled irl are walking, or even dancing, in LiFe so what makes him different.

Rakaydos on 06/23/2017 @ 5:20 pm

He’s old enough he never bothered to learn the movement commands, and just focused on the chat and PM systems. He had one of his subordinates add a force-sit effect to the chairs he uses so he isnt awkwardly standing around all the time.

GLJordan on 06/26/2017 @ 10:21 pm

He hasn’t been in a chair always. Grace was the man in black who talked to Kleya way back in the beginning. as to why, The older you get the nicer it is to sit down and it probably just carries over to his game life. plus he tends to watch so it is nice to be in a seat while doing so

I hate capthca

Have we ever seen Real World Dr. Grace?

KTrimbach on 06/28/2017 @ 5:33 pm

No. Only Kim, Jake/Bandit and “Kleya” (whose real name we *still* don’t know.) And a bunch of other people that don’t figure into the story. At least not yet.

KTrimbach on 06/28/2017 @ 5:40 pm

A lot of subtext in this one. Bandit says “Of course.” to Kim and she immediately knows that he’s not taking her serious. She takes a maternal interest in him “I don’t want the same happening to you.” and he looks like my son does after he’s been scolded – a little chagrined, but also happy to know that we care enough to discipline him. (If you don’t understand that comment – wait until you have kids.)

I also love Dr Grace’s sarcastic rejoinder “And you nobly sacrificed yourself for the task.” (i.e. He feels like he should be the first priority.)
