About

The Story:

In a post-apocalyptic world, hackers are hunted down since the virtual reality "L.i.F.e." is what most people have left to live, to work, and to play.

Kleya, a genius hacker, is trying to reform her bad habits and live like a normal person. Alas, the addictive virtual Game is calling her name and she has an extreme dislike of losing...

It's based on two ideas.

What if the only way to interact with people was via a virtual reality? Ie, the world ended and we only had the internet left.

What would happen if you combined a mmorpg with reality tv? Where you have to get votes in order to stay in the game?

There's actually a third idea, but that's super spoilerific, so you'll have to content yourself with the above for now.

The Setting:

There are three settings. Each has its own art style to differentiate themselves (style noted in the parentheses).

  • L.i.F.e- (simple with minimal shading)
The virtual reality everyone relies on to interact with others. It's been up about 2 years before the story starts.
  • The Game- (detailed with cel-shading)
An mmorpg (massively multi-player online role playing game) that has become the main entertainment for everyone. You either play or watch it.  Watchers subscribe to watch their favorite players and players try to do whatever they can in order to get viewers. If you don't get a certain amount, you're kicked out.
  • Reality- (complex with realistic shading)
Normal real life, or as normal as it can get after the world ends and you can't go outside and must stay inside protected areas.

The Author:

That'd be me. Aneeka. I'm addicted to storytelling and can't wait to tell this particular story in the graphic novel format.  I'm more of a writer (see here for my novels), but if you can forgive my constantly-improving-art skills (I'm a self-taught artist), I hope you'll enjoy this awesome story!

Feel free to leave as many comments as you'd like or you can contact me via this page.

Also, the comic updates every Tuesday and Friday.
