‘Not A Villain’ Webcomic – Page 484

Colors by Audrey. Everything else is by me.

Kat is not happy.

Thanks, everyone, for letting me take that quick break. I have a buffer, but I was in a grumpy mood (I'd had a bad week) and didn't want to use my precious buffer. And I had that cool sketch of Kat that I had yet to figure out how to re-use. Combine that with the fact that it is so hard to take vacations with a webcomic (it really kills your readership and that kills the ad income you're using to pay for the webcomic's expenses) plus that I had been feeling overwhelmed for a while that I guess I went into rebellious mode and threw up, as one reader put it, a Dead Aneeka Day.

It's amazing how much a break can help with stress. Also, this week has gone a lot better. I added more pages to my buffer, too! That helps a ton. So thanks everyone for your patience!

Kat vs. Lionthingy.

That sounds pretty onesided when you speak it out.

Yeah, sure does. Lionthingy doesn’t stand a chance.

Well, looks like Kat and Aneeka currently have one thing in common:

It’s quite the vicious circle that according to http://navcomic.com/not-a-villain/page-471/#comment-20905 you have far too much on your plate to experiment with posting supplements instead of comic pages and potentially having more free time as a result. As far as I’m aware, supplements don’t kill readership and ad income. I hope that you can get out of that predicament somehow. Do you have any plans on how to do that?

I guess my theory on the tree disappearing was wrong. Also welcome back!

Love that the Dude’s scream curves to follow his sudden turn.

Though poor Kat, now she has to save the ones she immobilized too.

Welcome back.
Wonder if someone hacked the program and that thing is really going to kill everyone?

Alert! That thing is going to kill everyone. Just letting you know.

more likely its the cardista she just pulled out of danger going for a good old backstab

I am gonna make a wild bet that somebody at headquarters decided to set a killer beast on the group that is way out of their league, to force Kat into tipping her hand. Any takers?

Is it just me, or is she actually using the other player as a springboard to jump back towards the beast? For some reason, I find this hilarious. It perfectly matches her style.

Maybe the kitty is just grumpy ’cause The Dude refused to give it a belly rub . . . though that is quite a lot of belly, he’d prolly need help . . . Quick! Everyone, knock the kitty over and start rubbing it’s belly!

“So thanks everyone for your patience!”

Glad I could ‘help’, Aneeka! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Where’s the sketch of Kat? I hit back I end up on page 483, and forward from there takes me back to 484.

Everyone needs a few days off…I had my own recently after 3 months of virtual non-stop ’emergencies’ at work, so yeah, I can sympathize.

Random thought, I find I enjoy looking forward to breaks more than looking back. Perhaps you can work formal breaks into your own schedule? e.g.: Twice a year quickly bang out a couple weeks worth of comics that are off the main story line, with simpler art and plot. We get a change of pace to keep things fresh, and you get to relax πŸ˜€

[…] Not a Villain – Just one update, and that’s the lion-dog-monster attacking everyone and leaving Kat worried about it. That’s what happens when the creator takes a break, but to be fair they kept to schedule for years until this point, they earned it. Friday […]

Bandit seemed a lot less surprised than he should be, knowing that the creature isn’t native to the area. It sounds like he either asked The Dude to do something like this or Bandit expected his boss to test Kat.

Can you add a link to the Kat sketch? I can’t find it.
